Allergy Aware School

At Knightlow C of E Primary School, we want all our children to feel safe, happy and included. That’s why we take allergies seriously and are proud to be an allergy-aware school.

As part of Benedict’s Law, we have clear arrangements in place to help keep children with allergies safe. This includes making sure our staff know which children have allergies, understand their individual needs and know what to do if a child has an allergic reaction. 

We work closely with parents and carers to keep allergy information and medication up to date, and we consider allergies when planning lessons, cooking activities, celebrations, trips and special events.

We also encourage our children to help keep each other safe by not sharing food, washing their hands and telling an adult if they or a friend feels unwell.

Most importantly, we want children with allergies to be able to enjoy all the fun and learning that primary school has to offer.
