Welcome to Year 6
I hope you all had a wonderful summer holiday and are feeling refreshed and ready to start the year with a circus theme which will inspire our writing, art, and even some circus skills in PE!
We are excited to invite you to our Meet the Teacher event on 17th September, where you'll have the chance to learn more about the upcoming year and ask any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you there!

PE
Please make sure you wear your PE kit on Wednesdays and Fridays so you are ready for our lessons.
Your kit should include black trousers or shorts and a plain white t-shirt (or one with the school logo if you prefer).
Homework
Grammar and punctuation homework will be set on a Friday and due in on the following Wednesday. This will be completed in a CGP book. Maths homework will be set on Fridays and will need to be completed online by Wednesday using 'Mathletics'. Log-ins will be stuck into homework diaries. Spellings will be tested weekly and a homework sheet with spellings for the half term will be sent out.
As well as Grammar, Maths and Spellings, children should continue to read regularly at home. We expect children to read for 45 minutes at least 5 times during the week.
Please use your TT Rockstars account, or other sites such as Hit the Button, to practise times tables as this supports so many aspects of the maths curriculum.
Finally, there is an optional Pick 'n' Mix selection of activities to complete at home. If you complete any of these activities then please do share your work with us; we'd love to see it and celebrate your efforts.
